Read Your Bible - The answers to your deepest questions are there.

The church is the people..

The church is the people. The people all have questions. The Bible is the word of God where all answers may be found. The secret to gaining knowledge is not just in the reading of the word (The Bible), but in researching and understanding what was written and why it was written. To get to the end, you have to start at the beginning. All of the answers lay in between.

One thing I noticed is that each time I read "something," for the second or third time, I discover that I not only see something new, but I understand it a little more. That sounds so simple. Maybe that is true with everything. Maybe that is another lesson we gain by reading the Bible. If you start at the beginning you will reach the end by going one step at a time. Simple. The Bible is interpreted in different ways to many people, however, one thing is for sure...it is God's truth...and it is about how we should live and why.

Another truth, maybe not so clear, is that no matter how much we try we still make mistakes...we still sin. But the greater truth is that God loves us and forgives us. The most important thing He asks for us to do, is to love him and our neighbors. By the way, neighbors are not just the people living next door. Now, that can be a hard order and a new discussion.

The Bible tells us about how God started it all...the world and His people. It's a great history lesson. The people are just like you and me. They make mistakes. They repeat mistakes. They sometimes do wondrous things and they sometimes make you want to cry for them and for mankind. They are human. They are loved by God. We are loved by God.

God has given each of us different gifts. We have to discover what these gifts are and do our best to use them. It would be a waste not to use them, because they are also a blessing from God.
